Feeling Control and Mistakes

Feeling Control and Mistakes
You cannot fully concentrate on your body language at the end of the day during that stressful moment, but a great body language is a reflection of your level of confidence. Everyone knows that how tense the job interview is, and you tried to prepare for it a lot. However, when you enter the office the relaxation diminish as well, so keep your head straight and you will be definitely surprised how naturally communicate non-verbally.
Relax
Be physically relaxed yourself on the way to the office, and practice smiling all the time. Since smiling will reduce your stress, and the interviewer also feel closer to you. Practice sitting as comfortable as you can, so you don’t have to make any bad movements with your hands, legs and facial expressions. Likely, picture yourself as an actor who is acting confident, but actually you’re not, but it helps you feel that you have it under control. Your posture, body, maintaining eye contact and receiving message from the counterpart would make you feel better.  Deliver a great answer from a hard question would take you out of the pressure. One of the best techniques is pause before answering a difficult question which means give yourself a break, but no more than 10 seconds. Since the interviewer would not notice that, so you will have enough eight seconds to think and organize your thoughts before it might deteriorate. You must not panic, and control your voice in every situation; don’t let anyone hear your shaking voice. If they can hear it, you are not a right candidate that they are looking for.

  2. Hi Anh~

Job interviews are very stressful situations for many people. Stress often causes nervousness and problems with concentration. The non-verbal gestures often reveal these emotions. What is more, in order to leave a good impression, it is important to be and look confident and persuasive so you show the company that you are its best candidate. I think that you provided helpful advices about controlling stress. I agree that a nice smile is helps people to create a good atmosphere during an interview which definitely reduces stress. So, it is important to practice the “interview smile” because when people smile too much it might cause more harms than benefits. I also like that you suggest taking a 10-second pause before answering the question. It is important to think about the answer. I really like your post! Great job!

  3. Hi Anh~

First of all, I like your blog very much. You chose a very interesting topic for this week. Feeling controlled is very important part for working environment. Not only during interviews but also during meetings. Smiling is a necessary part to show the others that you are not stressed out about the issue. What is more, when everyone will see that you are feeling relaxed and confident, they are going to be fine to talk to you without problems as well. In this way, people communicate more confident and it is easier to interact with each other. It was nice reading your blog. Thanks for sharing!
