we are living in the drastically fascinating changing world which is developing
day by day with a human contribution. As we all can see, we are surrounded by
the competition, where the strongest survive and the weakest go down. People
have their target since the early age, so they would have a clue which major
they will be focusing on. However, having a solid degree is not a key part
because getting a proper job is not that easy. You have to go through a lot of
obstacles to get through this mission impossible, and that is a job interview.
Everyone had or will have a job interview once in their life, and that might be
the scariest part ever. This is the opportunity when employer can test the
mentality and ability of the verbal and nonverbal communication of their future
employee, but people have a hard time to deal with their nonverbal
communication more than verbal communication. People are struggling with their
feeling or body language, so there are common problems that people have during
the interview. Using a great body language during the interview makes a good
impression at the first time, and also plays a key role to your success in your
future. You should be able to know how to use a nonverbal communication as
using a verbal communication. Therefore, there are a number of rules how to use
correctly body language in your first interview.
Body
Posture
Don’t
try to lean back because it might be a sign of no interest or carelessness. On
the other hand, don’t lean forward too much, as you may cause a discomfort for
the interviewer; everyone has their own zone. Try to sit up straight as simple
as you can, so they can see your confidence and credibility.
Entrance
As
soon as you arrived to the parking lot, your confidence must follow you right
when you step out of the car. Due to the fact that you do not know who can
observe you from the distance you park to the place where your interview will
be established. All the way from parking lot to the elevator, walking on the
stairs, walking through the hall way, and sitting to wait for calling out your
name. Tell your body to stay calm, and then make a perfect entrance. When you enter the office, so the first thing
you have to do is offer a tremendous handshake. To me, it will be better if you
can practice it with your roommate or friend, then they can tell you if you do
it wrong or right. Remember when you want to offer a handshake, you should give
the hiring manager a signal with move your right hand up a little bit, so they
can offer you back. Making a great entrance with the confident handshake and
great first impression is the first step of your interview.
First Impression
Before you would walk into
the office; prepare yourself with the questions that will be related to the
company, so you need to know all information that are about the company such as
products, recently events or news, company’s developments. Have in mind that
the first look at you from a hiring manager is absolutely crucial because the
way you dress is a massive point for yourself. It will take them only thirty
seconds to judge how you look and how you walk to the interview. Don’t pull
your pants during walking or fixing your belt, tie because it might seem to be
clumsy or hasty. Go straight to the door and politely say hello first with the
smile, and then offer a handshake with a confident eye contact.
